Hempel has been announced as the new development partner for the St. Paul Port Authority’s redevelopment of 396 Wabasha in Saint Paul. The property is an iconic part of Saint Paul, having been a Macy’s department store for nearly 50 years. The redevelopment plan is to convert the 540,000 square foot building into a mixed use property that will serve as the practice and training home of the Minnesota Wild, the local NHL franchise, complete with an NHL-sized practice rink on the top floor, as well as space for a wide variety of office, retail, and medical uses.
