If there’s one thing Joshua Krsnak, President of Minneapolis-based Hempel Cos. knows how to do, it’s make things move.
In real estate terms, Krsnak has been an active buyer and seller – in one instance selling the same building (Canadian Pacific Plaza) in Minneapolis twice in 24 months.
Krsnak joined Hempel at the age of 23, and, along with partner Jon Hempel, has developed and owned nearly $500 million in commercial real estate over the past 14 years. Their current holdings include over 1.5 million square feet of office, retail, apartment, parking and industrial properties. It’s also developing a portfolio of Milwaukee properties.
Krsnak has expanded his holdings in another space where things are moving: transport. He’s a partner in Northstar Midstream, which built a $175 million rail terminal to serve the North Dakota oil industry.
Krsnak also sits on the board of Resource, a nonprofit focused on recovery from addiction or living with mental illness, and on the executive committee for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
