Acquired One Corporate Center I & III

The office buildings in Edina, Minnesota have become part of Hempel's legacy portfolio.

Groundbreaking on The Hotel Minneapolis

The project converted the 100-year old Midland Bank into a 222-room hotel.

Purchased Rand Tower in downtown Minneapolis

Hempel moved its headquarters from Maple Ridge to The Rand Tower in 2009. The art deco design and central location made the 1929 building relevant even in the midst of the global financial crisis.

Purchased Soo Line Building

Hempel purchased the distressed asset in downtown Minneapolis, relocated the existing tenants to neighboring buildings, and sold the building to an apartment developer.

Purchased One Financial Plaza

Hempel purchased the downtown Minneapolis skyscraper and secured Canadian Pacific Rail as the anchor tenant.

Hempel Purchases Quadrant Office Building

Quadrant Office Building was a distressed suburban office asset with less than 40% occupancy when Hempel purchased the property. Using an aggressive leasing approach, Hempel successfully brought Quadrant's occupancy to 88% in just three years and eventually 100% by September of 2019, just prior to selling the building.

Acquisition of The Shops of Grand Avenue

The Shops of Grand Avenue was a popular Downtown Milwaukee shopping mall, but the mall fell victim to the same fate of many downtown malls. Hempel purchased the mall with a new vision to turn into a totally new experience featuring apartments, office space, and a food hall.

Josh Krsnak became the sole owner of Hempel

Josh Krsnak purchased Hempel from shareholders and became the sole owner of the organization. Read his bio here.

Treasure Island Center

Hempel formed a joint venture with the Saint Paul Port Authority and converted the former Downtown St. Paul Macy's building into offices, retail, and added an NHL-sized rink to the top floor to serve as the practice facility of the Minnesota Wild.
